In 2010, there was a “Secret Payload” aboard the maiden flight of the Space X Dragon spacecraft. After the successful orbit and splashdown, Elon Musk revealed that the contents of the payload was cheese. 

Space Cheese was inspired by a famous skit from the British comedy show Monty Python’s Flying Circus. In the skit actor John Cleese became frustrated by the lack of available cheese to buy. He concluded that the shop, like outer space, doesn’t have cheese.
